Throughout the month of May, the Roeslein Way’s Community Service Committee hosted a food drive benefiting Angels’ Arms, a local organization located just ten minutes from our St. Louis office. Due to kids being home for the summer, there is an increased need for food. Angels’ Arms stocks a 4,000 square foot donation distribution center with nonperishables for families in need. To help stock their distribution center, Roeslein employees collected various nonperishable food items from May 2 through May 20.

“When individuals host collections for our foster families, it’s truly what Angels’ Arms is all about, Community Supported Fostering,” said Angels’ Arms Development and Marketing Manager Maria Rehkemper. “Here at Angels’ Arms, we don’t receive any state or federal funding, so we rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters. This collection means our warehouse, Marion’s Angel Depot, will now be restocked with essentials for our foster families, allowing them to come by and pick up whatever they need.”

In addition to the food drive, the Roeslein Way’s Charitable Giving committee will also be making a monetary donation of $5,000 to Angels’ Arms. Jo Hart, Business Development Coordinator, said, “It feels good to give to a group that supports foster families. A food drive is such an easy way to give back. I feel blessed to have a job at a company that encourages us to help others in our community.”

Angels’ Arms is a charitable organization that engages the community to support foster families, works to keep siblings together, and allows kids to surpass the limits of foster care. Please visit https://angelsarms.org/ for more information or to donate directly to their cause.
