On Saturday, September 24th, 2022, members of Roeslein’s Community Service Committee worked with Habitat for Humanity in St. Louis to build 8 frame sections for a new home in North St. Louis County. Roeslein’s team worked out of the Habitat for Humanity Warehouse in South St. Louis City to build these frames while also assisting the Habitat team with organizing and cleaning their construction warehouse.
The Habitat Construction Leaders estimated that these frames make up for 60% of the home’s framework, which the team completed in 7 hours of work. Each team member was able to cut, measure, and nail in the wooden pieces needed to assemble window frames, door frames, and wall ladder frames for the home.
Michael Oles, Project Manager I for Roeslein, said, “The Roeslein Team assembled the house frames on Saturday and did a fantastic job. I’m grateful to the team members who gave up part of their Saturday to help out. This event was the Community Service Committee’s second Build Day with Habitat for Humanity, and Habitat is thrilled so far with our team’s work and wants Roeslein to return on at least an annual basis.”
This home is sponsored by local TV Station CBS KMOV. Roeslein’s Community Service Committee will hold another build event later in the year to continue working on the house at the job site.
This event was made possible by the Roeslein Way. The Roeslein Way program enables employees to benefit others and challenge each other on how they contribute to making their communities a better place to work and live. Roeslein encourages all employees to volunteer their time to local community service efforts. Employees have opportunities to volunteer as a group to impact surrounding communities while building valuable coworker relationships positively.
