Roeslein’s modular fabrication facility in Red Bud, IL achieved 500,000 hours worked without a lost time incident (LTI). Reaching this many logged hours, for any company, is a huge accomplishment. Roeslein recognizes it as a testament to its dedication, acknowledging that this is truly an accomplishment when considering the Red bud facility operates on two shifts a day,
five days a week, with an average of 180 workers on the work floor at one time.
“I am grateful to be a part of a company that makes safety its number one priority and one that demonstrates that safety is a group effort. We could not have made it to this point without the culture our Red Bud employees have established by recognizing, and embodying, the need for preventative thinking in the workplace,” said Ryan Kirkpatrick, EHS Manager for Roeslein.
Roeslein held a Business Success Event on December 14th 2017 to thank its employees and to recognize this milestone and other recent business successes. “The Business Success Event is a token of appreciation for the employees who are truly the heart of this company. We are fortunate enough to be able to give our employees a gift for their accomplishments at this time,” said Kirkpatrick. At the event, Roeslein’s Safety Team and members of the Board of Directors gave a presentation recognizing the achievements and hard work of its employees and ended with a positive overview of what to expect and come from the recent acquisition of Pride Conveyance.
In addition to the safety milestone, 27 Red Bud employees were recognized for perfect work attendance for 2017. “The dedication of the employees at Roeslein is what makes us a strong and successful company. Wanting to come to work every day is key to a strong work force,” said Mike Umbdenstock, Production Manager at Roeslein.
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), a LTI occurs when an employee is injured on the job in such a way that prohibit the employee from performing their work resulting in missed work time. Roeslein has reorganized its safety program to include additional training, daily toolbox talks and stretching, weekly safety meetings, as well as, offering courses in First Aid and CPR certification. Since the restructure, they have seen a vast increase in its safety awareness and performance.
