Roeslein’s Poland facility sits in the Krakow region near the Ukraine border, where many Ukrainian refugees have fled for safety. At the end of April, Roeslein organized and executed a company-wide fundraiser that spanned two weeks to assist the local community in humanitarian efforts.
“The Roeslein family is global,” said Divisional President of Manufacturing, Rob Campbell. “We felt closely tied to this cause and wanted to donate to further support those families affected.”
Roeslein worked with Good Logistics to collect items for Ukraine refugees. They provided freight forwarding and logistics services on a 40-foot shipping container, free of charge. A total of 14,713 items were gathered by employees, including clothing, personal care items, toys, and school supplies. The container left Roeslein’s facility in Red Bud, IL, on April 22 and is expected to arrive in Poland on May 18. These items will be distributed by a charity organization in Brest Powiat County.
In addition to this, through a combination of employee donations and company matching, Roeslein was able to give a monetary gift of $160,000. These funds will go directly to the rehabilitation of temporary housing for refugees.
Roeslein is also offering jobs to those establishing themselves in the Debno area. The shipping/receiving department and the accounting department at the Poland office have added two new team members. There are currently three more open positions.
